Damien English is Fine Gael's TD for the constituency of Meath West. Damien is currently the Fine Gael Spokesperson for Small Business and Labour Affairs.

Damien is a member of three Oireachtas committees: 1) Enterprise, Trade and Employment 2) EU Scrutiny 3) Economic and Regulatory Affairs

Deputy English was previously appointed Deputy Spokesperson on Justice & Community Affairs with Special Responsibility for Drugs, Alcohol & Crime Prevention, October, 2004

Previously Deputy Spokesperson on Arts, Sports and Tourism.

Damien was elected Secretary to the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party on Thursday 5th September 2002, a position he held for five years.

In his first General Election Damien was returned to the Dáil in 2002 as a TD for the then constituency of Meath . Damien was previously the youngest member of Meath County Council having been elected in 1999 at 21 years of age.
